The Ninh Binh-Trang An Festival 2023 theme "Colours of heritage convergence and spreading" was opened at the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex - a UNESCO-recognised world cultural and natural heritage, in the northern province of Ninh Binh on December 26 in the presence of Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.

Ninh Binh (VNA) – The Ninh Binh-Trang An Festival 2023 theme "Coloursof heritage convergence and spreading" was opened at the Trang An Scenic LandscapeComplex - a UNESCO-recognised world cultural and natural heritage, in the northern province of Ninh Binh on December 26 in the presence of Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan. 

In her remarks, Xuan highlightedthe significance of the event, saying that it helps connect heritage sites and inter-regionaltourist centres, and promote cultural exchange activities, thus upholing thevalue of heritage in the socio-economic development of localities and regions.

She praised localauthorities for their determination and efforts in promoting economicdevelopment, stating that the locality has taken remarkable strides in thedevelopment process, transitioning from an agricultural province to one thathas developed across sectors, especially tourism, automobile industry, and agricultural product processing.

The organising of the festival also demonstrates the locality’s determination to further promotethe significant role of culture in the socio-economic development of Ninh Binh,and contribute to the country’s development, she said.

Xuan showed her belief that the Party Committee and people of the province will continue to fully tap local potential, unique values and advantages towards becoming a centrally run city by 2035.

The Vice President expressedher hope that the festival will become a unique cultural brand of Ninh Binh,and that the province will be one of the leading localities nationwide in developingthe cultural industry, and an exemplary model of harmonious combination betweenthe heritage restoration and preservation and green growth and sustainabledevelopment.

According to Chairmanof the provincial People’s Committee Pham Quang Ngoc, Ninh Binh’s per capitaincome ranks 12th nationwide. Since 2022, it has balancedbudget itself and become one of the three modern automobile mechanical industrycentres of the country, and a national and international tourism centre as well.

The locality hasfocused on promoting economic growth associated with cultural-socialdevelopment and environmental protection, and attached importance to tapping naturaland cultural resources in the process of innovating growth models and restructuringeconomic sectors for sustainable development.

The festival shows NinhBinh's efforts and capacity in organising large-scale cultural events, contributingto realising its goal of developing its annual festival brand, thus strengthening domesticand international cultural exchange activities, and attracting more tourists tothe locality, Ngoc said.

The Ninh Binh – Trang AnFestival 2023 will last until December 31./.

To mark International Children's Day on June 1, the Union of Vietnamese Organisations in Russia organised a friendly football tournament, giving young players an opportunity to showcase their talent, pursue their passion and strengthen ties with one another.

The 280-page collection, translated into Vietnamese by poet Tran Le Khanh, brings together works inspired by Weigl’s experiences, observations and reflections on Hanoi.

Technology is similarly enriching exhibitions at the Vietnam Women’s Museum in Hanoi. Wartime letters, a typewriter and other artefacts linked to former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh have been digitally integrated with collections held at the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City. Through projection mapping, 3D displays and a virtual reality recreation of the Paris Peace Agreement, visitors can engage more deeply with the life and achievements of one of Vietnam’s most prominent diplomats.

The festival is expected to bring together around 900 artists, producers and film professionals from Vietnam and abroad, including more than 200 international guests. This marks the largest edition since DANAFF was first launched in 2023, highlighting its growing appeal within the film industry.

Bilingual book, exhibition honour Ho Chi Minh’s legacy

In the new era, cultural values are expected to permeate all aspects of life, serving as a foundation, resource, catalyst and regulatory force for the country’s rapid and sustainable development.

Designed as a continuous artistic journey, the event paired two generations of pianists in a musical dialogue intended to foster connection, dialogue and mutual understanding while deepening the Vietnam-Poland comprehensive partnership.

The festival, an annual cultural and tourism event in Ho Chi Minh City, serves as an opportunity to promote the agricultural products and distinctive culture of the Mekong Delta to domestic and international visitors.

Many attendees expressed surprise and admiration upon learning about “dan bau” – an instrument widely regarded as a symbol of Vietnamese traditional music.

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Tran Van Bay extended greetings to the local Buddhist community and acknowledged the important contributions made by the city chapter of the VBS and followers to local socio-economic development.
