Concert in HCM City to feature Miss Universe 2007

HCM City (VNS/VNA) - MissUniverse 2007 Riyo Mori of Japan and pop star Hong Nhung will take part in aspecial concert in Ho Chi Minh City on October 6.

The show, Em Mo (I Dream), willfeature Vietnamese songs and dances by young composers and choreographers.

Mori and dancer Linh Nga will perform in acontemporary piece, while Nhung will sing with her peers Bang Kieu and Quang Dung.

Young singer Bui Anh Tuan, winner of GoldenApricot for Best Male Singer in 2016 by Nguoi Lao Dong (Labourer)newspaper, will also be featured.

The concert will feature a fashion show bydesigner Nguyen Công Tri. He will introduce his Spring-Summer 2018 collection, CocoYeu Dau – Coco La Bien Aimée (Coco - The Beloved), featuringclothes in styles popular in the 1930s and 1940s.

Highlighted designs include ao dai (Vietnamesetraditional dress) in silk and lace inspired by Vietnamese fairy tales.

Tri, a member of the Asian Couture Federation(ACF), graduated from the HCM City University of Architecture’s industrial artsfaculty in 2001.

He rose to fame atschool after his collection, Su Thang Hoa Cua Dat Va Nuoc (TheExplosive Mix of Earth and Water), won second prize at the 2001 Asian YoungFashion Designer Contest by the Textile and Fashion Federation of Singapore andSingapore Trade Development Board.

Tri attended leading fashion events at home andabroad, including the Vietnam Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and OriginPassion and Belief Fair in Vicenza, Italy.

He also performed as a judge in the Vietnameseversions of international TV reality shows like Project Runway and SoYou Think You Can Dance.

He has a staff of more than 50, includingsellers and seamstresses who work every day for his two shops in District 1,and 3.

His shops have about 60 designs and accessorieseach, and he makes new ones every season. His elegant and eye-catching pieces,using high-quality silk, cotton and wool, cast a glamour over women.

Em Mo will begin at 8pm at the Military Zone 7 Gymnasium at 202Hoang Van Thu Street in Tan Binh district on October 6.-VNS/VNA

The festival featured more than 20 booths offering traditional Vietnamese dishes, including "pho" and spring rolls, alongside activities promoting Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditonal long dress). One of the highlights was the presentation of complimentary Ao Dai to Czech residents and international visitors.

The 280-page collection, translated into Vietnamese by poet Tran Le Khanh, brings together works inspired by Weigl’s experiences, observations and reflections on Hanoi.

Technology is similarly enriching exhibitions at the Vietnam Women’s Museum in Hanoi. Wartime letters, a typewriter and other artefacts linked to former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh have been digitally integrated with collections held at the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City. Through projection mapping, 3D displays and a virtual reality recreation of the Paris Peace Agreement, visitors can engage more deeply with the life and achievements of one of Vietnam’s most prominent diplomats.

The festival is expected to bring together around 900 artists, producers and film professionals from Vietnam and abroad, including more than 200 international guests. This marks the largest edition since DANAFF was first launched in 2023, highlighting its growing appeal within the film industry.

Bilingual book, exhibition honour Ho Chi Minh’s legacy

Designed as a continuous artistic journey, the event paired two generations of pianists in a musical dialogue intended to foster connection, dialogue and mutual understanding while deepening the Vietnam-Poland comprehensive partnership.

Making its debut at the Asian Pop Culture Festival (APCF), the largest event of its kind ever staged in Paris, Vietnam featured around 10 booths, including six dedicated to food and several others highlighting the nation’s cultural heritage.
