Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc onSeptember 21 directed the building of a modern culture imbued with nationalidentities, thus creating a driving force for socio-economic development.
He made the statement during a televised conference in Hanoito review the “All people stay united to build cultural life for the 2000-2018period” campaign.
The PM described the campaign as a major policy towardsconstructing a well-rounded lifestyle for its people, fostering solidarity, anddriving back social evils. He added that it has been welcomed by the people ofall walks of life over the past 18 years with many good examples and deedsbeing honoured.
Admitting that some shortcomings still occurred in theprocess, he said coordination among units concerned remains limited, whilepersonnel for the effort is yet to meet demand and quality of culturalactivities in regions and areas has been uneven.
In order to further spread the campaign, he stressed theneed to build a healthy cultural environment at national and local levels, inresidential areas, and every aspect of society while fighting negative andwrongful phenomena. He also urged authorities and Party units to pool resourcestogether, using collective power for the effort.
According to the Central Steering Committee on the campaign,over 1.2 million exemplary acts and deeds by good people and over 69,000 wardsand villages have been honoured, and more than 19 million households recognisedas cultural families over the past 18 years.
Many outstanding individuals and collectives have also beenhonoured by the Party, State, and Government during the period. -VNA

First recognised by UNESCO on April 12, 2018, the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark in the northern province of Cao Bang is a land shaped by more than 500 million years of geological history. Covering over 3,683 sq.km and encompassing all or part of 36 communes and wards, the geopark is home to numerous scenic landscapes, as well as historical and cultural sites of exceptional value.
The decision marks a significant milestone in the growing convergence of classical mind sports and the rapidly expanding global esports industry, where chess is increasingly being integrated into digital competition formats.

The festival is expected to bring together around 900 artists, producers and film professionals from Vietnam and abroad, including more than 200 international guests. This marks the largest edition since DANAFF was first launched in 2023, highlighting its growing appeal within the film industry.
