HCM City (VNA) – More than 50 filmproduction establishments across the country have registered a total of 144movies for the Kite Awards 2018.
The information was revealed by Chairman of theVietnam Cinema Association Dang Xuan Hai at an event to introduce the awards inHo Chi Minh City on April 4.
According to the organising board, the awards honourcinematic works which are artistically creative, imbued with national identity,rich in human values and have a positive influence on society.
There will be a “Golden Kite Award”, “SilverKite Award” and certificates of merit for the best works in differentcategories such as short films, animations, documentaries, scientific films andTV series.
The award ceremony will be held in HCM City onApril 12 and broadcast live on VTV2.
Some participating cinematic works will bescreened for free in HCM City and Hanoi from April 5-10.
A workshop on film composition and TV serieswill be held in HCM City on April 9.
Organised by the Vietnam Cinema Association, theannual Kite Awards aim to honour individuals and groups who make significantcontributions to domestic cinema.-VNA
