Bac Giang (VNA) – An exhibition on the cultural space of Truc Lam ZenBuddhist sect in Tay Yen Tu opened in the northern province of Bac Giang onFebruary 14.

On displaywere over 200 photos, materials and artefacts featuring the local developmenthistory, the formation of the Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect, the Buddhist revivalof the first three patriarchs of the sect, a wooden block kept by Vinh Nghiempagoda, and household appliances from the Ly to Tran King Dynasties.

DeputyDirector of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen SiCam said many relic and cultural sites related to national construction anddefence, especially during the Ly to Tran King Dynasties, remain along theslope of Tay Yen Tu mountain.

Inparticular, relic sites linked to the formation of the Truc Lam Zen Buddhistsect were upgraded into the Vinh Nghiem, Am Vai, Ho Thien, and Yen Ma pagodas.

Theexhibition is also expected to raise public awareness of preserving andupholding historical and cultural traditions of the nation, popularise tourism,and attract more investment in the Tay Yen Tu spiritual-ecological tourismarea.

On theoccasion, the organising board also debuted the book “Relic and scenic sites ofTay Yen Tu” by the Publishing House of Ethnic Culture. The 87-page bookintroduces 12 sites along the slope of Tay Yen Tu mountain, such as Vinh Nghiemand Am Vai pagodas. –VNA

The additional seating in Grandstand A4 will be put into operation ahead of schedule to meet growing demand from both local residents and tourists eager to enjoy one of Vietnam’s most anticipated summer events.

The centre is expected to become a vital venue for the Vietnamese community in Thailand to hold on to their cultural identity and language, while doubling as a bridge to further deepen the two countries’ Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
