Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese striker Nguyen Cong Phuong was unveiled as an Incheon UnitedFC player at a press conference held in Incheon, the Republic of Korea, onFebruary 14.
The K-League 1 clubacquired the Vietnamese player’s services from his Vietnamese club Hoang AnhGia Lai FC on a one year loan deal.
Phuong will haveabout two weeks to prepare before the season begins on March 1 and will wearthe jersey number 23.
The 24-year-oldstriker has played more than 30 matches for the Vietnamese national team, whichis coached by Korean Park Hang-seo.
He reportedly impressedmanager of the Incheon United FC Jorn Andersen during the Vietnamese squad’straining session in the Republic of Korea in preparation for the ASEAN FootballFederation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018.
This is the secondtime he has ventured outside Vietnam after a loan spell withJapanese second division side Mito HollyHock in 2016.
Phuong is thelatest member of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 champions to move abroad, after midfielderLuong Xuan Truong of Hoang Anh Gia Lai FC joined Buriram United Football Clubof Thailand on loan, while goalkeeper Dang Van Lam transferred from Hai Phong FCto Muangthong United of Thailand.-VNA
