Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister NguyenXuan Phuc received Park Soo-kwan, Honorary Consul General of Vietnam in theRepublic of Korea (RoK)’s Busan-Gyeongnam region, in Hanoi on August 24.

The host leader welcomed his guest’s workingvisit to Vietnam, which is made amid the growing strategic cooperativepartnership between the two countries.

Noting that Busan is developed in variousfields, especially economy and trade, he expressed his hope that the trip willconsiderably contribute to the city’s cooperation with Vietnamese localitiesand businesses.

The Honorary Consul General said his delegationincludes representatives of many prestigious Busan businesses who came to seekcooperation and investment opportunities in Vietnam. He highly valued Vietnam’sfast socio-economic development under the management and steering of theGovernment led by PM Phuc.

Park asked his host to support the opening of adirect air route linking Vietnam’s central city of Nha Trang city with Busan inorder to create more chances for trade, cultural exchange and tourism partnershipbetween the two nations. He also called for PM Phuc’s more support forcooperation activities between Busan and Vietnamese localities and enterprisesin the time ahead.

At the meeting, PM Phuc said the VietnameseGovernment appreciates Park’s contributions to bilateral relations, asking himto continue to help protect legitimate interests of Vietnamese people working,studying and living in the Busan-Gyeongnam region, especially the Vietnamese –Korean families, and encourage local universities and businesses to grantscholarships for students and recruit workers from Vietnam.

The Honorary Consul General was also asked toencourage more RoK businesses to invest in the Southeast Asian country orpartner with Vietnamese firms to import high-quality agricultural productswhich are a strength of Vietnam and also in demand in the RoK.

The host leader added the Vietnamese Governmentand himself are always ready to assist Park to fulfill his role as HonoraryConsul General of Vietnam in the Busan-Gyeongnam region.

Park pledged to persuade major and capablebusinesses in the region to increase investing in Vietnam. He also promisedutmost efforts to develop the two countries’ strategic cooperative partnershipin all fields.-VNA
