Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and ForeignMinister Pham Binh Minh hosted a reception in Hanoi on August 23 for Park Soo-kwan,Honorary Consul General of Vietnam in the Republic of Korea’s Busan-Gyeongnam region.

At the meeting, Minh expressed his delight at thedevelopment of the Vietnam-RoK strategic cooperative partnership.

He applauded Park’s contributions to promoting bilateralties, especially in assisting Vietnamese-Korean families, and Vietnameselabourers and students in the Busan-Gyeongnam region.

The Deputy PM urged Park to carry forward his role as the HonoraryConsul General to support and protect legitimate rights and interests ofVietnamese citizens who are living, studying, and working in the region.

He also called on the Honorary Consul General to encourage largeand potential businesses in the region to increase their investment in Vietnam,to promote the presence of Vietnamese products on the RoK market, and to enhancecooperation in tourism, and education and training between the two countries.

In his reply, Park pledged that he will continue to makeall-out efforts in order to contribute to forging the strategic cooperativepartnership in the time ahead.–VNA

Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang underlined the importance of stronger coordination between APEC and other regional and global mechanisms in order to improve efficiency and optimise resources in addressing common challenges.
