    Hanoi (VNS/VNA)- An experimental exhibition exploring art mixed with technology will open onAugust 25 in Hanoi.

    With the theme of "Art & Technology: Art as Insight", theexhibition explores intersections of knowledge and art — objects and designsthat are beautiful but also represent amazing technological innovations, thatinspire reflection and new discoveries for the viewer and that highlight therole of art as a powerful conduit of learning.

    This unique debut exhibition, curated by San Francisco-based design-technologistKatherina Huong Nguyen, explores the potential harmony between art andtechnologies in the modern day.

    “Art as a lens to view technologies, as a facilitator of technologicalunderstanding and innovation, art that leverages technology to amplify itsvision and ability to lend insight, technology that scales the creativeprocess, and/or art re-adapting technological artifacts as a new form of futurecommunication,” she said.

    The talented artists in the exhibition all intimately wield technology toexpress their vision, expanding the limits of what can be seen, sensed andexperienced. Sometimes, they even entrust the creative process to the innermachine eye.

    Their work guides the audience towards insight in three areas: creativity ofthe machine eye and scaled computational intelligence, sensory experiences andcontemplation of the environment and the science of light and beauty ofinternal universes.

    “The artworks and interactive installation experiences hope to introduce thepotential of new and old technologies for future creators, inspire appreciationfor the arts as a natural sandbox to encourage technology experimentation andencourage discussion around how we can build a future where arts and technologyare more intertwined and equally cherished as fundamental to human progress,”said Nguyen.

    The artists participating to the exhibition include Andrew Witt (projectionvideo), Richard The (digital print), Reggie Raye (digital prints ofcomputationally generated models for 3D printing), Nate Saucier (interactivemobile VR experience on Google Daydream), Juliann Ma (mixed media musicperformance), Celeste Oram (mixed sound and movement live radio wavecomposition), Maya Vanderschuit (projection media and sound), Daniel Oran(light sculpting and nanotechnology photography techniques), and Nikita Obidin(scientific camera apparatus).

    Nguyen is a designer/engineer who is currently exploring the museum space witha keen interest in the potential of leveraging technologies to promote andbetter understand the world’s rich art heritage.

    While she is a new curator, her passion for the potential of arts andtechnology is rooted in her childhood in the heart of Silicon Valley,where she grew up alongside the rise of the early tech industry, in her liberalarts education and in her years of experience running a software designconsultancy immersed in the innovative startup ecosystem.

    This exhibition is her debut curatorial production, both to celebrate thebeautiful relationship between art and technology and to explore the potentialof digital media technologies in facilitating distributed curation experiencesacross borders.

    The exhibition will run until September 7 at the HeritageSpace, 6 Nguyen Hoang street, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi.

Through projection mapping, 3D displays and a virtual reality recreation of the Paris Peace Agreement, visitors can engage more deeply with the life and achievements of one of Vietnam’s most prominent diplomats.

    The festival is expected to bring together around 900 artists, producers and film professionals from Vietnam and abroad, including more than 200 international guests. This marks the largest edition since DANAFF was first launched in 2023, highlighting its growing appeal within the film industry.

    Bilingual book, exhibition honour Ho Chi Minh’s legacy

In the new era, cultural values are expected to permeate all aspects of life, serving as a foundation, resource, catalyst and regulatory force for the country’s rapid and sustainable development.

    Designed as a continuous artistic journey, the event paired two generations of pianists in a musical dialogue intended to foster connection, dialogue and mutual understanding while deepening the Vietnam-Poland comprehensive partnership.
