Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc onAugust 8 signed decisions on disciplinary actions against high-ranking policeofficials due to their very serious wrongdoings during their work.

Accordingly, Bui Van Thanh is dismissed from his post as Deputy Minister ofPublic Security, and Tran Viet Tan is stripped of his title as former DeputyMinister of Public Security for the 2011-2016 tenure.

Earlier, the Politburo imposed Party discipline againstThanh and Tan at Decisions No.823 QDNS/TW and No.822 QDNS/TW dated July 31,2018, respectively.

Also on August 8, the PM signed a document submitted to the Presidenton demoting Tan from the rank of Senior Lieutenant General to LieutenantGeneral, and Thanh from Lieutenant General to Colonel.-VNA
