Hanoi (VNA) –Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed his willingness to listen with highresponsibility to opinions of intellectuals, experts, people and particularlyNational Assembly deputies on the proposal of land lease of 99 years in the draftlaw on special administrative-economic units.

The PM made thestatement in reply to reporters’ questions regarding the Law on SpecialAdministrative-Economic Units of Van Don, Bac Van Phong, Phu Quoc on June 4 onthe sidelines of the ongoing NA’s fifth plenary session.

 As schedule, the bill will be adopted duringthe session.

The PM said that theestablishment of special economic zones has been successful in many countriesaround the world.

Currently, the bill isbeing adjusted and completed, he said, adding that the National AssemblyStanding Committee will carefully analyse all ideas related to the draft lawbefore approving it.

“The last decisionwill be made by the National Assembly. Whatever the decision is, the Governmentwill respect it,” stated the PM.

He clarified that thetime limit of 99 years of land lease is only granted to special cases afterbeing considered by the PM with consultations with authorised agencies.However, he also stressed the need for attractive policies to lure investment.

The formation of specialeconomic zones must be implemented in line with resolutions of the 12th PartyCongress and the Party Central Committee, as well as directions from thePolitburo on policies related to the building of the zone, he added.-VNA
