Vietnam attends international seminar on Marxism in Nepal

Kathmandu (VNA) – The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) hosted an internationalseminar themed “Karl Marx and today socialism” in the capital city of Kathmanduon May 30 and 31 on the occasion of the great philosopher’s 200th birth anniversary.
A Vietnamesedelegation led by Permanent Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of VietnamCentral Committee’s Commission for External Relations Tran Dac Loi attended theevent.
Also present atthe event were NCP Chairman and Nepalese Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli,Nepalese ministers and parliamentarians, 300 domestic politicians, researchersand scientists, over 40 foreign delegates from 22 communist and workers’parties worldwide.
Participantshailed Marx as a great thinker and philosopher who made significantcontributions to society, towards building a better life for human kinds.
Marx’s thoughtscurrently remain a lodestar for communist, workers’ and left-wing parties and labourersin many countries in the struggle for freedom, fairness, equality, peace andprosperity.
Almost opinionsshared the view that communist and workers’ parties need to fully grasp andcreatively apply basic principles of Marxism to build a path toward socialismthat suits each country’s conditions.
Sharingexperience in building socialism in Nepal, China, Vietnam and Cuba, delegates affirmedthat socialism is the most effective and scientific solution for human kinds toovercome the crisis of capitalism.
They underscoredthe importance of strengthening international solidarity among communist andworkers’ parties at present as appealed by eminent thinker Karl Marx.-VNA

The two sides shared the view that both sides should strengthen cooperation to translate high-level common understandings into practical outcomes. Cooperation, they agreed, should focus on two key pillars: theory research and the training and capacity building of officials.
Participants reviewed rental housing demand in each area, considering different market segments and target groups. They also examined the gap between supply and demand, and pinpointed issues in policy frameworks.
PM Le Minh Hung stressed that Hai Phong should become a national pioneer in implementing a new growth model driven by science – technology, innovation and digital transformation.
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam, his spouse, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left Manila on June 1, concluding their two-day state visit to the Philippines at the invitation of Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and his spouse.

Vietnam, Philippines issue Joint Statement on Enhanced Strategic Partnership
Based on the good friendship and the interests and aspirations of the people of both countries, the two sides agreed to elevate the Vietnam-Philippines bilateral relationship to an Enhanced Strategic Partnership.
Vietnam called for an open, inclusive regional architecture with ASEAN at its core, insisting that all new initiatives be transparent, respect international law, complement one another, and avoid undermining ASEAN centrality or turning Southeast Asia into an arena for great power rivalry.
