VFF Vice President sends wishes on Lord Buddha’s birthday

Hanoi (VNA) – Vice President and SecretaryGeneral of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Hau A Lenhvisited Most Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem in Ba Da Pagoda, Hanoi on May 24 to extendcongratulations on Lord Buddha’s birthday.
Most Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem is Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)Executive Council, Head of the VBS’s Faith Popularization Committee, and Headof the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Hanoi and the centralprovince of Ha Tinh.
Lenh sent his best wishes to Most Venerable Thich BaoNghiem aswell as Vietnamese Buddhistdignitaries, monks, nuns and followers both at home and overseas on the 2562nd birthday of Lord Buddha and theannual Buddhist Rains Retreat this year. He hoped they werehaving a joyful and peaceful celebration of the Lord Buddha’s birthday.
He spoke highly of the VBS as it has stayed united inharmony with the entire nation. At the same time, as an important member of theVFF, the VBS has actively taken part in many patriotic movements, charityevents and activities to promote environmental protection and adaption toclimate change, he said.
The VFF official thanked the VBS for its contributionto the country in recent years, saying he expects Most Venerable Thich BaoNghiem and the VBS will continue serving as a bridge between the State, Partyand VFF and Buddhist followers.
On the behalf of the VBS, Most Venerable Thich BaoNghiem expressed his gratitude towards the VFF Central Committee’s gesture andaffirmed that the VBS together with Buddhist monks, nuns and followers willcontinue maintaining and promoting the good traditions of the sangha andcomplying with the State’s policies and regulations. -VNA

The funding is expected to help accelerate the search for and identification of war victims through the application of modern technologies.
In recent years, the museum has stepped up the application of technology to transform traditional exhibition spaces into interactive and immersive experiences. The process began in 2021 with the launch of an exploration room for children featuring interactive screens.
The institutions covered by the scheme are the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), University of Medicine and Pharmacy Ho Chi Minh City (UMP), Vietnamese-German University (VGU) and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM).
Under the plan, all central and local media outlets are required to launch columns on the campaign, maintain regular coverage, and produce at least five to seven in-depth reports each month in key search areas. Media agencies will also be encouraged to gather and verify valuable information and develop high-quality products in both Vietnamese and foreign languages, including feature articles, documentaries, reports and short videos.
Ngo Phuong Ly, spouse of Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, expressed her emotion at seeing the children’s optimism despite difficult circumstances, noting that both Vietnam and the Philippines place children at the centre of their development policies, from education, health care to child protection.
Vietnam has made measurable strides in school nutrition over the recent years. The legal framework has gradually been refined, the average height of Vietnamese youth has improved markedly, and school meal models now reach preschools and primary schools nationwide.
Since 2009, the State President has granted amnesty on 12 occasions, resulting in the early release of more than 120,000 prisoners. Addressing the event, Venerable Thich Minh Quang, abbot of Phat Tich Pagoda, said Vesak not only meets the spiritual needs of the Vietnamese community in Laos but also contributes to promoting people-to-people exchanges and deepening the special friendship between the two neighbouring countries.
